Designationism

A philosophy of permanent artistic identity.

Designationism is the founding philosophy of Wacky Walls. Every original sculptural surface is permanently united with one historically significant automotive colour designation. Once assigned, that designation is permanently retired and can never be used again, creating a unique identity that exists only once.

The Principles

I

Originality

Every Wacky Walls sculpture is created entirely by hand. No two surfaces share the same form, texture or topography. There are no editions, reproductions or multiples. Every work is an original object with its own permanent identity.

II

One-of-One Creation

Every artwork exists only once. Upon completion it is entered into the Wacky Walls Designation Register, where its designation, provenance and identity are permanently recorded. No second version can ever exist.

III

Historic Automotive Colour Heritage

Every designation is selected from historically significant automotive colour archives. These designations represent moments of engineering, design and cultural history. Once assigned to a Wacky Walls sculpture, the designation is permanently retired from future artistic use.

IV

Permanent Retirement

Permanent retirement is the defining principle of Designationism. Once a historic designation has been assigned to an artwork, it can never be used again. The designation becomes inseparable from that single sculpture forever.

V

The Wacky Walls Designation Register

Every completed sculpture is permanently recorded within the Wacky Walls Designation Register. The Register serves as the official archive of retired designations, documenting each artwork's identity, provenance, historic colour reference and permanent status.

VI

Collectability

Ownership extends beyond acquiring an original artwork. Each collector becomes the permanent custodian of a historically significant designation that will never appear on another sculpture anywhere in the world.

Designationism is not an artistic style. It is the permanent union of an original sculptural surface and a historically significant automotive designation. One Artwork. One Designation. Forever.
